Thinking about an inground
pool?
Are you not sure what you want? or what to expect?
From start to finish, here is what to
expect from Pools Plus:
DESIGN
THROUGH LAYOUT
We'll meet with you at
your home, help evaluate your needs and desires, and find
a pool that fits your lifestyle and budget (as well as
your yard). You will then be provided with a detailed
drawing (to scale) of your pool in your yard, along with
a proposal and contract price. After your approval of
changes, additions and/or improvements to the drawing,
we will layout the pool in an easy to see and understand
way for your final approval.
START
DATE & PERMITS
By this time we will have
talked about a start date, so we'll finalize the actual
day (normally that's within a couple of weeks), hope that
the weather is good, apply for building and electrical
permits, and have all utilities located by BUD (Before
You Dig).
|
|
DIG
& POOL CONSTRUCTION
WARNING! The day we dig
the pool, it will look like a bomb went off in your backyard
and you may wonder, "What have we done?!" Have
faith. Within the first (work) week we'll have the pool
shell, steps, light niche(s), skimmer(s), returns, drains,
plumbing (water pressure tested) and electrical grounding
complete and backfilled, ready to start forming for the
concrete decking around the pool.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
We'll come in at this point
and run the necessary wiring to connect the pool pump,
pool light and utility outlet as well as any other outlets
or fixtures we've agreed on. Of course all work will be
completed as per national, state and local codes.
|
|
CIRCULATION
& FILTRATION EQUIPMENT
Next, we'll install the pool pump(s), filter,
valves, automatic sanitizing system, (the heart and lungs
of the system), and any other necessary equipment on the
concrete equipment pad.
CONCRETE
DECKING
The concrete deck will be formed as per
our discussions and drawings. Broom finish or exposed
aggregate are standard and your choice at the same cost.
There are also many other choices for pool decking available:
pavers, brick, stone, stamped concrete, deck coating,
even wood or PVC decking. Feel free to ask for information
and quotes on different surfaces. If changes need to be
made - no problem, sometimes what looks good on paper
just doesn't work in reality. We'll move the forms and
adjust the cost or explain why we can't make changes.

LINER
INSTALLATION
This is when the pool comes to life. We
place and finish the pool bottom with a sand/cement mix
then clean and install the liner with the pattern of your
choice. (There are more than 30 patterns to choose from.)
We normally fill with a garden hose, which is normally
a two-day process, but can have water hauled in if necessary
or desired. Once the pool is full and all openings are
cut in, we're ready to start up the pump and filter.
GRADE
& FINISH
After the deck is poured and usually before
the fence is installed, we fill in ruts, shape and finish
grade the area that's been disturbed, then seed and straw
that part of the yard.

POOL
SCHOOL: TRAINING & OPERATION
Once the pool is up and operating, we provide
initial instruction (written and oral, approximately 2 hours
worth) on operation of the pump, filter, 4-way valve, multi-port,
and any other equipment located on the filter pad, such as heaters
or other valves. Then we go over all the maintenance equipment,
manual vacuum, poles, net, brushes, all the necessary stuff,
plus any other equipment such as automatic cleaners, in floor
cleaners, etc. After operational instruction, we cover basic
water chemistry, which includes testing water and adding water
care products. This is often a lot of information to absorb,
so if we need to come back in a couple of weeks (after you've
had time for some practical experience) we're happy to schedule
a time to do so. We also offer several "Pool Schools"
a year at each of our stores and we test water at our store
labs free of charge. We want you to know and understand everything
about your pool and to know "we're always only a phone
call away."
COMPLETION
You will be provided with all warranty information,
manuals, equipment schematics, safety information and "No
Diving" decals. Also, be sure and ask about our referral
program.
OTHER
BACKYARD PRODUCTS & SERVICES
We offer a wide variety of pool accessory products
(games, floats, etc.), spas, casual furniture, grills, outdoor
kitchens, yard art and gifts (candles, wind chimes, clocks,
thermometers, hammocks, etc.). You'll just have to visit us
